If you wish to activate a superior function on the terminal (QR payment, VS, gratuity, etc.) or modify the receipt footer, you no longer need to call customer support. The terminal can be conveniently set up via our Dotypay portal via the Configuration section and updated.
How do I set up my terminal?
In the menu, go to 1 Devices and click the 2 Edit cog next to the terminal you wish to set.
In the tabs select 3 Configuration.
On the left side of the screen you will see a menu with all available editing options.
4 Receipt settings
The receipt has a control and information function. The footer can be edited and any text can be added. Just type it in the 5 field and then set 6 Save.
7 QR payment
With the QR payment function activated, the payment terminal camera can be used to retrieve the standard payment data (amount, VS and message for the payee). Activate the function by switching the 8 checkbox Off (green).
9 Variable symbol
In this section you can activate Variable symbol (it is a payment identifier, consisting of a maximum of 10 digits) or Payment identifier (another symbol, which can consist of letters and digits with a maximum of 32 characters). To activate the function, switch the checkbox Off, then it will be possible to enter an identifier on the terminal for each payment.
10 Tips
In this section you can activate Standard or Smart tips.
Standard tip
It can be activated by toggling the 11 checkbox Off. Then the 12 advanced settings will be available, just select the desired and confirm the choice via 13 Save.
Standard tipsSmart tips
It can be activated by toggling the 14 checkbox Off. The 15 Tipping A, B, C windows will then open to preselect the option. You can set the boxes with % or in CZK. Simply confirm the choice by clicking 16 Save.
Smart tips17 Screen timeout
Here you can set whether you want the display to be on or off after a certain interval. Automatic switching off saves the battery and is recommended when operating the terminal manually. On the other hand, it is recommended to leave the lights off when the terminal is connected to the cash register.
Toggle the 18 checkbox Off to make the 19 Interval option available. You can choose from: 15/30 seconds or 1/2/5/15/30 minutes. Then just click on 20 Save.
21 KIOSK mode
Kiosk mode is used to switch the payment terminal into self-service mode, where it is assumed that the cashier operates the payment terminal from the POS application and the terminal is located in the customer area. The payment terminal does not display a login screen and payment requests are displayed automatically due to the connection with the POS. The function is activated by toggling the 22 checkbox Off.
